It is up to you to lay the patterns of your life..

“What we do not see, what most of us never suspect of existing, is the silent but irresistible power which comes to the rescue of those who fight on in the face of discouragement.”
- Napoleon Hill

Today I sit and mull over what to write about – going through notes I have made to jog my memory and looking through past things I have written down; but nothing feels right. Then I realise that my body and mind are just switched off – a result of the past few month’s perseverance.
I have taken a few days off and gone on a short holiday – my brain too – before taking up my business life again. A kind of respite to allow things to come together.

Then I came upon something stashed away somewhere on my laptop that caught my eye – messages from the Dalai Lama for 2008 – well, it is now 2009, and some of you might have heard these messages before, but they are timeless and there is no harm in hearing/reading them again – so here they are:

· Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
· When you lose, don’t lose the lesson…
· Follow the three R’s – respect for Self, respect for Others and responsibility for all your Actions.
· Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
· Learn the rules so that you know how to break them properly.
· Don’t let a little dispute injure a great relationship.
· When you realise you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
· Spend some time alone every day.
· Open your arms to change, but don’t give up your values.
· Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
· Live a good, honourable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
· A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
· In disagreements with a loved one, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
· Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.
· Be gentle with the Earth.
· Once a year, go some place you’ve never been before.
· Remember the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
· Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
· Approach love and cooking with reckless abandon.

“I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.”
- John D. Rockefeller

Taking action is usually the ultimate solution to every dilemma.

With all my love and gratitude,
