Point of Attraction


Repeated frustrations and disappointments are always a reflection of repeated misunderstandings and presumptions.

This morning I got the distinct impression that my Higher-Self wanted me to look at something. …as I was rummaging through things that I need to pack for my next trip into the world, I came upon a quote I had written down a while ago, which comes from the Law of Attraction, and relates to how we can succumb to other peoples’ thoughts, not because people influence us through their thought, but because we allow those thoughts to influence our way of thinking:

“You are here to CREATE the world around you that YOU choose, while you ALLOW the world – as OTHERS choose it to be – to exist, also. And while their choices in no way hinder your own choices your attention to what they are choosing does effect your vibration and therefore your own POINT OF ATTRACTION”.

For me this relates to the people who talk out of presumption and misunderstanding; people that have been cautioning me about my next life-altering adventure. It is not that one must get upset or angry at opinions that do not gel with your own; it is simply a matter of knowing your own truth and not reacting to other peoples’ thoughts – which are their own – and thus not altering your perception. Do not react to life – and do not get angry with it. Just live your own life and thank people for what they have to say and contribute – but that does not have to alter your own belief. Thus keeping your ‘point of attraction’ intact. Take what is useful and discard that which encumbers you. And always show respect.

Childlike joy


Yesterday, I was profusely working on the internet, when I came across an article on YAHOO regarding some political stuff (Sky News) - I cannot remember what the article was about; all I remember is that the female reporter was seriously reporting on something wildlifey in South Africa in some National Park somewhere: The reporter had very big hair - as black as the night. Her entire outfit was black - and she looked a bit like Jenifer Rush on a bad hair day.
Behind her there was a Giraffe - grazing lazily in amongst all this hullabaloo - as "Jenifer" was prattling on about something evidently less serious than what she was trying to impress upon the camera, Mr. Giraffe lifted his long neck and looked directly at Ms. Reporter's back - probably wondering if her hair was a danger or something to eat. At that precise moment, a bird came to land on the giraffe’s head - this completed the scene and ended "Jenifer's" 15 minutes of drama with a flourish of hilarity.

...and so is life.

We take it too seriously sometimes..

Thought in Action


The day I wrote this it was a lazy-hazy Sunday here in Johannesburg :

After washing the car and taking the dogs for a walk with my partner; I am now sitting in our study at home browsing on Facebook and replying to work emails for accommodation for the 2010 cricket in SA. Modern technology at work.

Yesterday we were at the Thai festival here in Zoo Lake and today is gardening day.

I wanted to start writing about all kinds of fancy philosophical mumo jumbo, when I realised that through the simple action of walking the dogs this late morning, etc. – reading on the couch and listening to good music; pottering in the garden and now smelling the delicious flavours of the Thai red bean curry that my partner is preparing; life is good. I, in fact, have that which I have desired all my life – and I have realised that it is not one of those eventual goals, but a goal that is achieved through its maintenance. Living life in the knowledge that I am always responsible for its outcome in my world. It is the simple rule of letting people be who they are – allow them to love what they love – allow them to appreciate life the way they do - ..and then appreciate the same from them, ‘cause there is nothing like living within the knowledge that you may get angry and you may argue- you may question that which you perceive to upset you and you may relish in your own joy – without any untoward consequence other than expressing the emotion and openly talking about it without ridicule.

We are here to be who we want to be – while we allow others to be that which they want to be. You cannot create in the experience of another, because you cannot think their thoughts.

I suppose that it lies in the small things that we tend to overlook, instead of being grateful for.

The glue that binds us is found in the recognition of each person’s individuality within the whole. All true friendships and intimate relationships must contain this ingredient from both partners for life to be a truly incredible experience – true?

True to a very large degree, yes – and it must include respect and understanding for each partner’s view point.

One of these understanding things is the point that part of the deliciousness of this physical world that we live in is the intention to experience our creations through action. But if your action is not one of joy, it is an absolute that whatever the action, it will not lead to any kind of happy ending. It cannot, for it defies a universal law that creation lies in thought, not in action – action is only how we experience the result of our creation(s).

PASSION


There are times when we have to consciously decide not to take away someone’s perception of the magical nuance of life.

Life is full of magical moments - moments that enamour us to life; moments that allow us to experience that part of ourselves that simply creates passion in our existence.

Almost the entire worldly societal structure is currently functioning because of one set of reasons only: and that is that everything in finance, economics, business and the way we live is based in GUILT and LACK (thus FEAR).

We are made to feel GUILT that we do not do something that “everybody else” is contributing to.

We are passionately told by most media that we LACK something and are thus not whole. (The Jones’s thrive on this..)

So when your friend or partner comments that they have been shocking everybody the whole day (zzzzztt) and that it was actually quite a scream – let them realise themselves, later, that is was probably because they have built up a lot of static electricity because of the synthetic carpeting in the office or because they were wearing lots of synthetic clothing that day- it is not your right to take away their moment of magic. Don’t add to GUILT by having to be right – and don’t add to the fear of LACK because you have to set the record straight – because you have to be right.

There are times when “setting the record straight” is called for – but many times it is not necessary for you to do it.

So the question is not really about taking away the magic…, but if you can resist the temptation to let others know that you know what’s RIGHT!!

If you cannot resist bursting someone’s bubble just because you have to prove to them that you are right and that you know what’s what, then you are falling into emotional immaturity…, and all you are showing yourself is that you need to prove to yourself that you know what is supposedly right or that you are good enough or rich enough or experienced enough or knowledgeable enough…..

…all you are proving is that you are not good enough for yourself.

I am not saying that one must live in a fool’s paradise, but to live gracefully is so much more fulfilling than always being right.

It's lonely at the top (wherever that top is).


This is probably the most important thing that anyone ever said to me – I remember it as if it were this afternoon – and yet at happened almost 20 years ago – and I will remember this statement for the rest of my life.

It was a sunny late summer morning in Cavendish in Cape Town- the leaves gently frolicking in the light-hearted wind – a friend of mine took me to visit a well-known opera singer at her house – my first impression of this international diva was one of sadness – it surrounded her like a shroud and pervaded her every thought and nuance. Even her home – in all its lavishness and comfort – spoke of good memories cut short because of self-imposed sacrifice. It felt like she had become too much of one thing that only she could direct.

I wondered about her love life – she was divorced and the pictures of her two children exuded an aura of loneliness and unfulfilled expectation.

Hearing her play on the piano, and listening to a recording of her former exquisite voice in its then prime, made me think twice about condemning this woman to a forgotten career, as one could hear how much life and passion there was – just by appreciating her vocal talent.

Over lunch we chatted about light hearted things, but yet they were all tainted with melancholy. And when my friend asked her if there was any lasting advice she would give, considering all her worldly experience, she looked at us for a few moments… and then said: “It’s lonely at the top.” And then she cried a little.

It is when we forget the people who mean the most to us that we relegate ourselves to lives where only “me” is present – and there is no “we”.

It is important to know that life is what you make of it – but how many people forget that that is two-fold: YOU are the most important person you will ever know and deal with. WE are here to experience life as an individual – of the whole. Which means that we are all part of life – and every action must therefore include consideration of the whole.

It is not always fun to have fun by yourself. One tends to buy more blankets that way.

Change can be difficult, but don’t be afraid, even the butterfly, as it emerges from its cocoon, thinks that it is dying.

We are our own creators and have no one to blame but ourselves if creations don't come. That does not mean it's easy! One must definitely let go in order to be free. Let go of what? Of what you know does not serve you or something that deep in your heart you can admit is not true for you. This is often a place of comfort, non-confrontation, and 'no courage required'. What I have learnt in the last year, is that when you finally do let go, jump off the cliff and build your wings on the way down, that freedom can never be replaced or explained to anyone, it is like living in a rainbow. It is not an exterior identity, nor something you can prove by displaying awards. It is personal.

The trick is not to take things personally:

Did the chicken lay the egg, or did the egg lay the chicken? Which
came first? In all of creation, everything happens at once when
vibrations reach a certain level of frequency. It is then that
manifestation occurs when things culminate through like energies
attracting like energies. Similar to always having everything we
need, the pieces come together more easily when there is less
density. So then, do we attract our experiences, or do our
experiences attract us? And how does this relate to not taking
things personally?

As we vibrate higher and higher, we shed off our density, or the
lower vibrating aspects of ourselves. Higher and lower energies
cannot exist in the same space, and we are now residing in a higher
realm. We only react to things if they trigger something within us
that is a match in vibration. As we begin to vibrate higher, we
then begin to embody higher ways of being, and not reacting to the
outside environment is one of these ways of being. Just like the entire nature kingdom, we eventually come to a place where we simply are. The more purified version of ourselves is composed of our special gifts and talents, our connection to Source, and not much else. In this way, we can be shining our brightest light the
majority of the time. Everything else belongs to someone or
something else.

When we attract situations in our lives that create an emotional
response, or charge, this is because we have a corresponding energy
pattern that is connected to our disconnected or ego selves.

As we begin to evolve, we can still attract situations or see them
unfolding around us, but if we have no particular feelings or
emotions about them, then we are free and clear to be who we are at
the highest levels. Not taking things personally is one way to do
this.

Something beautiful


Hi, all,

What's vibrating?


In this week's Lilac Master I am trying to address this feeling of "nothing is moving in my life" -
Some people have noticed that things are quick to materialze these days - and some have not.
It is all about the following:
it is fact that humanity and science is slowly coming to the realization that thought does actually create reality - this is actually no longer in that much dispute - what is under scrutiny is the difference is pace of its occurance..
There is a simple explanation for this - and that depends on any one person's belief and understanding of the concept of how creation occurrs.
We, as a species, are slowly realizing that we have more say in creation than at first thought.
It is a matter of vibration:
Your thought and actions produce vibration - and when this thought is accompanied by emotion and "meets up" with a similar vibration in the universe - VOILA!! - a match is made and creation happens.

I have decided to send out an disribution email that consists of a bunch of quotes - and nothing that looks like the norm:

Happiness comes first. Partners, abundance, and cool shoes come later.

it's supposed to be easy. Everything is supposed to be easy. Everything is easy. You live in a dream world. You're surrounded by illusions. And the illusions change when you change your thinking!

Very simply, the more that you accept responsibility for something, the more power you have.

You only ever have to do what you're capable of doing, because by design, no matter how things appear, you'll always have enough time to do it, you'll do even better than you would have thought, and life will get even richer than you could have imagined.

One must let go, in order to be free.

Brilliant, civilization-changing ideas are a dime a dozen. Physically taking action to implement them, however, beginning with baby steps that seem to accomplish very little, is what gets the crowds screaming..

Considerations, Fears and Roadblocks


Most people understand that one does need to set goals in one’s life – the snag comes in with the emerging stumbling blocks before you even achieve the goal(s).
Considerations, fears and roadblocks are going to emerge – this is just one of those things that happen – and the question is if you are going to overcome them or throw in the towel.

The objective is to treat these things for what they are and see them as part of the process; to handle them rather than allowing them to stop you in your tracks.

• Let’s look at CONSIDERATIONS: As soon as you have set yourself a goal you start getting thoughts on the things that will prevent it → e.g: You want to double your income in the next year – your mind (ego) immediately counters this thought with things like “I will have to work twice as hard and won’t have time for my family or to socialise with my friends..”
..this is a consideration – and there is an endless supply that I am sure you can think of – and considerations are a subconscious way of you stopping yourself from achieving greatness.

It is good to have these considerations surface however, for then you can deal with them – if you have the guts.

• FEARS come into play as feelings: Like feelings of rejection, fear of failure and fear of making a fool of yourself. You might also be afraid of getting hurt, or that you might lose all your money, etc. This is not unusual – fears are natural and part of the process. Fears are there as a built in safety mechanism for our ego as a preservative measure for our survival – but this does not mean we have to give in to them, we have brains after all.

• And lastly, we have ROADBLOCKS: These are simply external factors that WILL come up as a result of your course of action(s). This might be something like: you do not have enough money to move ahead with your project → possible solution = you need investors.

Roadblocks are simply obstacles thrown in your way – they are world circumstances that we need to recognize as very real, and that need to be dealt with.
If, for example, your business has shown a financial loss – then investigate – you might find it was because of bad management – so either replace the manager and/or install new management principles, bearing in mind that you will have to concentrate on what works for the business.
Unfortunately, when considerations, fears and roadblocks invariably come up, most people see them as stop signs – and they end up not pursuing their goal(s). And, of course, still bemoan their lot.

See these things as a normal part of the process and which will always appear.
If you are having your house re-modeled, you are going to put up with some temporary discomfort – are you not?

These things are supposed to appear – and if they do not, you have not set a goal big enough to grow and stretch you – with no real potential for self-development.

Learn to deal with these things.

Finding the pathways within..

One thing I have said over and over for several years is that
the higher realms are not what you might think. Much of what
we have been taught or read about is highly inaccurate.
Although this is not a simple process, basically it all boils down
to simplicity and how energy responds and interacts with itself.
There are higher and lower forms of vibrating energy creating
things that feel good and things that do not. So then, there is
no meaning to anything. Meaning is simply what we choose to
place on any particular manifestation. Some things may feel
good to one person according to how they interpret them, and
may feel very unpleasant to another. A rule of thumb, then,
might be that things either feel good or they feel bad. It's that
simple.

Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile, but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.”

In the last seven weeks I have learnt so much about myself, just through the art of allowing other people to be who they are – without judgement (ok, so that part I only really learnt in the last week). It is quite amazing what happens when you allow another their way of living and believing – it quite literally turns things around. And by allowing, I mean really just allowing. Not judging their actions; not reacting to comments in which you find you have to “put the record straight”.

If you feel that you have to defend your way of doing things toward your friends and loved ones – then you have missed the loo, lost the plot and burnt the cupcakes.

We are only responsible for our own behaviour. No one person can create another’s belief and experience – however, the drama lies in the perception that another person can alter and affect our minds. The only way another can have a say in how we see and experience things, is if we allow their opinion(s) to influence our own – and that is our own doing – the other person influenced nothing; but it was perceived that they did.

Loving someone for the simple fact that they are there makes a world of difference.

Don't give up..


I was asked what the number one way is to reverse a global recession:

“Recession? What recession? Who said anything about a recession…? Onwards to the mall, I say!”

These were the words of a very good friend of mine who has the most unbelievably positive outlook on life I have seen in a while.

Sure – our world markets are slumping and all that jazz…, and this friend of mine has no blinkers on, believe me; he sees as much reality in the current global situation as anyone else with a few brain cells to spare.

HOWEVER -

The thing is that as soon as one starts to plot an approach that is specifically designed in your head to deal with a sagging economy, all the various animal flues and your bad hair, a tipping point is reached in your life that will make these threats a reality in your life.

Not to say that you will not feel the fear of all the fear mongers and doom saying woowoo! people. NO. You will see the reality of the fearing people, but that does not mean you have to revel in it as well.

Have a glass of wine with your lover,
Go have coffee with friends,
Traverse a mall and see a movie,
Bake a double chocolate mint fudge cake and have a gettogether,
Attend that “voodoo” talk you have wanted to go listen to,
Visit your auntie in far-and-beyond-village,
…and think big – no matter how little you have, if you believe abundance, speak it and act abundantly – you will eventually have it in greater measure.

THE TRICK IS TO KEEP AT IT REGARDLESS OF OUTSIDE OPINION.
This is the difficult part – not actually doing it, but not giving in to outside fears and opinions. AND not giving up.

Do not stop believing in yourself – the world will be a lesser place for it if you did.

Some things should also just be done for the fun of it - Not because they're inexpensive, practical, organic, logical, fashionable, modest, brilliant, green, expected, proper, spiritual, thinning, fattening, prudent, or allergen-smoke-chemical free.

Elegance and Serenity (It is all in your attitude)


I have realised that I have come to a final stance in my belief in God. I have been given the thing my psyche has yearned to know all these years – ultimately: In my own belief system I know what God is to me; in my own belief system I know that I am supported by the invisible realms, but there has always been that nagging thing of ‘is it real’? ‘am I really part of God and creation’?

While listening to Beethoven, it struck me that although I have seen, heard and experienced the invisible support of life – in my life, I have never fully accepted it. My mind got in the way. And now Life has provided me with the means to accept: For the past nine months I have been forced to face my own demons and some of my deepest fears and hurts in a society that is undergoing much change in difficult times.

If your safety and security lie only in worldly affairs – you are especially vulnerable, for nowhere in the world is there safety and security. Things are galloping along quickly and much is being shaken up (forget the stirring!).

It is all about attitude; and the prevailing attitude at the moment is one of defining morality and establishing self-worth and individual empowerment.

My own attitude has been grossly eschewed in many respects; I started seeing no meaning in our earthly life…, and worse yet, I started detesting the life style of human society and becoming disgusted with humanity in general.

…What I have learned through all this is that it is I who am responsible for bringing joy into my own life. I have learned that there is no point to it all if life cannot be shared with those that matter. I have learned that instead of pleading with Christ to give purpose to my experience(s)…, simply ask for Life to provide your highest good in every situation – and then to really trust…, and then watch for synchronistic events that support your desire, and then act on them.

Also: be loud and proud of your self and do not let what you do define your attitude, but to let your attitude define what you do.

Take the lead and be decisive – and know that your passion lies in that thing that you know you can do without much thinking and/or effort (and sometimes that is not even something you have considered yet – and sometimes there is more than one).

The choice that I now have is to believe that I am worth something as a human being, and that either I believe it – or I don’t.

You cannot be held responsible by Life for someone else’s happiness, but you will be held responsible for your own.

Start by giving happiness to others; and do not believe in loss or gain.

Your goal is to eliminate unnecessary drama from your life.

What would we be without sounding boards?



What would we be without sounding boards?


If it wasn’t for the emotional support of friends,

life would be pretty dreary. Who would we then turn to,

to talk about our opinions and confusions?

If you don’t have a sounding board someone who will listen to your dilemmas –

then you probably lead a very guarded life.


And leading a guarded life will mean that you can never have a true relationship

with anyone;

neither close friends, nor intimate partners;

no matter how much you wish for it.

You will become selfish and haughty;

maybe leading a grand life style, but one that is never satisfying enough.

For it is impossible for other people to try and understand

you if you do not even understand yourself.

And you can only understand yourself

if you can bounce your ideas of who you are off of another who will listen –

and listen to their advice, if asked.

A real friend will not let your choices offend them,

or your words hurt them,

or allow your actions to upset them –

for they will attempt to understand you, and try not to laugh at the obviousness of the outcome when you get back to your senses.


To be respected for whom you are

LIFE BY EXAMPLE.

…and know that your perception of reality is only how you define reality.

Finding meaning in your life and work

If you are falling about and wondering if life will ever give you a break, then you have not taken responsibility for the quality of your life experiences.

The big question is whether one forces creation to obey your command and dissect every small detail ad nauseum; to imply to the Universe that that is what you want to happen through the Law of Attraction – finish.

OR

Does one simply imply what it is you want and think about, and all the wonderful things surrounding that thought - and leave the details open for the Universe to realise the details in your life – also through the Law of Attraction?

We have to remember a few things here:

First of all it is possible to use the law of Attraction either way – however – the first way is very difficult, because it involves MUCH mental concentration and effort. If you are going to force the Universe to give you what you desire through mental effort, then you need to be sure to keep up this effort at every angle.

I know a few people who do this – and it does work – however, in my opinion, it is open to attracting unnecessary anguish and frustration, as it requires a CONSTANT and unwavering mental regimen to never waver from a thought – come hell or high water – as the thought will clash with your ego around every corner.

OR – if one is to believe that unfailing supply is the Law, then one will get exactly what one has been estimating. The trick is to entrust the process of life to bring you what you desire – simply by allowing it to arrange events and situations to accommodate your thought(s).

This can actually be seen in the time lapse that occurs between thought and the realisation of that thought in the human mind. The reason that most people think that something new and unexpected is happening to them, is because the original thought was some time ago and is only now materialising, thus we think that it is an unexpected event – I tell you now – nothing is unexpected – somewhere along the line you thought it.

To bridge this gap between thought and the realisation of that thought, is to hold the thought steadfast and unwavering – AND to embellish as you wish on that thought and think all the good results stemming from that thought. The details of what exactly it entails and exactly when it is to come about you leave up to the workings of life. You have to believe this and not change your mind (for as soon as you change your mind, you alter the direction of the thought) – and it will come to pass sooner than you think.

For example: I want a new job that is going to accommodate my current life style and desires to have time to explore and enjoy my part time practice…….blah, blah…

Now keep that thought and do not deviate from believing that something that will fit this description will come to pass – something that suits you. And let go of the details and let creation bring you what you desire. In the meantime – carry on living and enjoying life - THIS IS IMPORTANT.

You also have to take responsibility for the quality of your life experiences – also by doing something about it. Don’t just sit there – get out and go and enjoy life. Go to the movies; go see friends for coffee; go do laps in the pool; have a midday snooze; if people ask your advice, then give it – the thing is to keep positive – and to do this you have to do positive things. Be creative – complete that project that you have been promising yourself to do.

“I want my goal to be where I end up in the perfect scenario of synchronicity, whatever that is, which enhances myself and those around me.” Can you imagine how that fits into a society, into a culture, where Human Beings acknowledge from the get-go that they want to fit in to the appropriate puzzle, which is that of creation? Goal setting: Not visualizing a scenario, but an energy, the energy of appropriateness. Start now, setting the energy of appropriateness, putting yourselves into that puzzle of synchronicity and saying, “It is well wherever I end up, for it will help the planet.” That’s what the masters did, and still do.


Ending up in the perfect synchronicity does not imply suffering or hardship – wishing to end up where best you can serve will also allow for your desires to be fulfilled in more ways than you would expect.

This I have seen more than once – so it must work.

NOTHING is to big for life to let happen – your only hurdle is your own contradicting thoughts and if you allow the negative opinions of others to influence your power of using the Laws of Creation.
