Something more light-hearted..

I have just been sitting outside in the glooorious morning sun, defrosting my feet, playing with the cats, sipping my day’s cup of coffee, enjoying a slice of toast with mushed avo on it – life is good.
The month has been very busy so far; mostly getting things organised – and now, all of a sudden things are quiet. When you work for yourself, QUIET is usually a scary thing – but because I know this is just a little quiet before the storm, I am relishing the beauty of life.
And this is what I feel moved to talk about today –
The beauty of life.

You know – I could probably be “oh, so spiritual” about all of this (just imagine a guy in a contorted Yoga position, holding his hands upright with middle fingers and thumbs touching), but really now, what is the point of being “oh, so spiritual”, if we cannot see the beauty of our life? We should definitely have a rule that no one has the right to be dull!

I am not trying to have fun with people here; it’s just that we all struggle to always find the lighter side of things. So – how do you see the beauty in life?
Well….., oh whatever – let me tell you a story:
A grade 1 teacher was contemplating how on earth she was going to entertain her brand new class – seeing that in today’s world even children have become so blasé and tend to look at you as if they are soooo bored with you. Well, not with this missy-teacher, she came up with the idea to tell an old-school story.

Oh my…

Anyway, she got the little 5/6 year olds in a semi circle on the carpet and after introductions, launched into…… - wait for it…… - LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD!
Fortunately, teacher was a good story teller – using arms and hands and eyes - and the children were soon absorbed in it all with animated faces.

There was a little 5 year old boy at the back whose eyes grew wider as the story got more exciting and descriptive – when teacher came to the part of Granny and the Wolf, he had already moved up to the front and was staring at his new teacher with combobulated fascination. Just as she told and demonstrated the part about Granny being eaten by the Wolf, the boy exclaimed: “That sonofabitch!”

Now, I am not going to elaborate on the in’s and out’s of what the boy said and parenting or how the teacher recovered from this articulate insert and all that jazz; however, the point I am trying to make is that when that teacher looked into that boy’s eyes after what he had said - she saw bewondered innocence.

(I actually read this story in a business book about “selling yourself”.)

Having that outlook on life in your adulthood is what makes a person the one who everybody wants to be with.

How do you find out who you are? by experiencing – and if that is to go out there and get a holistic massage or a Reiki treatment, learning how to ski or hanglide, getting your Numerology done or regularly going to art galaries, because it really interests you – then that is your choice. And let NO ONE tell you otherwise.

To be able to manage the stresses of the world we live in, we need to know how to communicate with our inner wisdom – and we can only do that by allowing ourselves to be absorbed in the magic of living and experiencing the life of the world we live in.

No one else will do it for you.

Remember that the way you feel about yourself will impact everything you do in life…

In love and light,
